From Thozhilalar Koodam:
In Tamil, “Thozhilalar” means “Workers” and “Koodam” means “Space” or “Forum”. The objective of the Thozhilalar Koodam labour blog is to be such a space for workers of Tamilnadu, India, and beyond, to share information, interact, discuss, debate, and engage in collective action.
We also try to produce resources that can benefit the labour movement. To that end, we recently made a comic on the ongoing struggle for a living wage in India, focusing on the 1948 Minimum Wages Act: how it is used, abused, and how it can better serve the interests of the working class.
The blog is run by a citizens collective from various professions. We strive to maintain a working class position and perspective, but also remain unaffiliated with any political party or trade union. You can contact us at admin@tnlabour.in.
The Graphic History Collective welcomes guest posts from individuals and groups around the world using art for social and economic change. Email us: graphichistorycollective@gmail.com.
